This apartment complex seemed to be a great steal. It was located in a quiet neighborhood, the maintenance guy Ralph was awesome, and the rent was extremely affordable. However after 4 years, and break in, I decided to move and was hit with a steep move out fee. It is my conclusion that the apartment complex/Mid Ohio Development Corp tried to recover the expenses they shelled out when I insisted that they install an alarm after the burglary. My apartment was left in stellar condition, I don’t have kids, and I travel for work a majority of the time...needless to say I was rarely there. Upon move out, I was charged a grand total of $941.69 for fees I can only presume are bogus. They charged me several misc. fees for "dusty blinds" and a finger print smudge on a cabinet. Additionally, I was forced to replace ALL carpet (which was not new when I moved in 4 years prior) simply because I had a pet. Apparently the $250 pet privilege fee does not get applied to ANYTHING, it is simply a "privilege fee" (what a joke!). I then went back and forth with the management company for two months requesting an invoice of the charges, as I refused to pay them in full until they provided this documentation. Mid Ohio Development Corporation will NEVER get another dime of my money. The whole ordeal has been life changing and has tarnished my views on renting. Take my advice, DO NO MOVE TO CHERRYBLOSSOM WAY TOWNHOMES in Reynoldsburg OH. You will thank me in the long run.
