Provided by YP.comI've been going to Dr. Luk for about 14 years and he always does a great job. I'm disabled and one of his areas of expertise is working with people who are disabled. I hate having work done in my mouth, but he's careful and always makes sure I have enough medicine so that the pain is a bare minimum which is a huge blessing. His brother, Tim, takes care of the front desk and always greets us happily when we get there and has everything ready afterwards so we can pay, schedule a follow up visit if necessary, and leave quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Luk & his team!

i have been fillings, cleanings, root canals and crowns for my teeth by Dr. Luk. i have paid more than $5000 so far for the past 2 some years. the problem is, he did the job, wasn't that clean, kept making me come back and charged me every time. and make sure, ask all the price before let him check your teeth, because he always try to take the advantage of your wallet.
for example: my tooth felt hurt last week, that tooth has been root canal and crown about 2 some years ago. he told me need to re-root canal one more time and pay one more time. also he kept telling me that my case was pretty rarely, only like 1% of the people need to re-root canal. he just tried to get off all his responsibiltes.
then i made a appointment for 2 hrs re-root cancel treatment last week. he also doesn't really know how to manage the time and schedule...like for that the 2 hrs re-root canal appointment, most of the time i was waiting for him to come. once he came, he used around 30 min to do the re-root canal, and said it was hard job to do it. need to re-schedule the 2 more hrs appointment at another day. i know that nornally take 2 hours should be good enough. i think the main reason, it was 6pm, time to get off there... he didn't stand my side to think about it, my tooth only finished 30 to 40 % the job. and asked me to come back to finish the rest of job next week. i feel more pain compare to before i didn't do the re-root canal now. i have to take the pain relief pills before go to the bed... and i have to take one more day off. also i have to have some more inections, i believe nobody likes to take those shots...
when i paid the bill, the front desk (his brother, Tim), he saw i got some cash and said that was the cash deal, i could not pay by any kind the cards. if i wanna pay by card, the price going to lot higher. the point is he didn't tell me that i could not by cards before... the IRS should deal with him soon. and why i needed to pay all amount first, since the job is not done..
here is the problems after he treated my teeth:
one of the fillings, the pain comes back.
one of the root canal and crown after the treatment, it still feels pretty weak, it feels a little painful, when i eat the hard food. when i use my finger to push it a little, i can feel that crown / tooth is not really stable, it moves a little. when i asked him why that happen at the beginning, he told me that was normal, and would better later, but it never feel better...
another crown, the size is too small at the bottom, near the gum. it is very easy get the food to stick between the teeth's gap, when i was eating. he said if i wanna re-do the crown, then i have to pay one more time... what a good service!!
for all these problems. i need to pay one more time per every problem to get all fix. which means i need to pay twice anount to fix every problem.
tomorrow will be my last time at there. no more for sure.
the others, when i told him, why my one of others teeth has been filling by him before, it felt hurt. he said he could help me to check, and he only used 3 to 5 min. to check it and one x ray... then charged me the full price as a exam checking for that. also he did not tell me that i had to pay it at the beginning. i thought it was the free one.
Dr. Luk ... i don't think he is a good dentist. and his skill and service just so so...he and his brother, Dr Arthur Luk and Tim always think how to take the advantage from his patients.

Provided by YP.comWell, I had chosen this dentist from a list of dentist I was provided by my dental insurance, because it said they were taking new patients and because they were the closest to me home. I didn’t need to see the dentist until almost 3 months after my insurance coverage started with my new employer.
I called and was told that I could early one morning and was told that I could come in that day after I got off work at 5pm, which sounded great. But, then the person tells me that there will be an additional fee for being after hours because it was after 5pm. I decided not to make that appointment, because there are many other dentists listed that would not consider 5pm after hours. Who gets to say when after hours is? And think it is ok to charge more money for the same services you would get somewhere else or at this dentist before 5pm. I called around and most dentist offices hours are designed to work with a working person’s schedule.
So, I decided just to make a regular appointment and they gave me a date of almost 6 weeks from the day I called until they would have an open appointment slot for me. Again, who does this? Who lists saying they are taking new patients but in reality they are not? Answer: This dentist does.
Now I had to go online choose a different dentist and have to wait for my insurance provider to update their database and list my new dentist as my provider.
Also, not a friendly person answering the phone there, so my suggestion is to choose a different dentist if you want to actually get into see one without an additional charge or have to wait 6 weeks. Not worth the wait I am sure of it, but can’t for sure say that since I couldn’t get in to see them.
