I purchased a splitting axe from Traditional Woodworkers Corp. (Seller) that is defective, but the Seller is unwilling to honor the warranty on this product—a 20-year warranty. The axe needs to be repaired or replaced since it is unusable and dangerously close to fully dislodging, resulting in personal injury and/or other damage. I attempted to contact the Seller via telephone, e-mail and fax several times and received only one single response from Mr. Erik Edstrom (owner). Mr Edstrom stated that they cannot guarantee the axe since “. . . we have no control over how the axe has been used or stored [therefore] does not qualify as manufacturing defect [sic]." The Seller has not asked to see the axe or for any other information and has created an impossible condition for warranty: Seller’s control over use and storage of their products. I asked the Seller to provide explicit details on what qualifies as a "manufacturing defect,” however, the Seller has not responded in more than three weeks.

This Seller is non-responsive and elusive. I attempted to contact the Seller nine times via telephone, sent seven e-mails and four faxes before the Seller responded once via e-mail. This Seller is selling defective products and is misrepresenting the warranty behind these products. I believe that the Seller is engaging in false advertising with respect to their stated 20-year warranty. It is my sincere opinion that there exists a culture of deception and complete disregard for customers at Traditional Woodworkers Corp. It is difficult to imagine how this company continues to be business.
