At only 25 years old, Steve Estepp started Estepps Friendly Shell on Labor Day 1975 as a gas station dealer and automotive mechanic. Steve built up the business over the next decade working on cars, taking care of customers and building relationships that last to this day. In the mid 1980s, Steve converted the service station and bays into a c-store expanding the grocery and beverage offerings. At the time, it was one of the first c-stores of its kind. Over the years, Steve began to expand the business by adding other locations in and around Lexington. Additionally, Steve continued to expand the offerings at Estepp Shell by adding a car wash and installing one of the first Subway restaurants in the Lexington area.
