I visited this Short Pump, VA location for the last time today. I used to be a regular- the staff were very friendly and my order was always delicious. I don't know what happened, but all the workers I used to appreciate so much (I even left a perfect review in a survey, back in the day) have suddenly vanished. In the past few weeks, possibly even months I have had problems with my order being correct. However, I've always tried to come back in hopes of a better experience since it is right on my way to work and I used to be so fond of the store. The past few times, I did not complain and drank whatever I received. I could always add my own milk or sugar, or wait for the ice to water it down if it was too strong, etc - no need to raise a fuss.



But today I asked for a plain bagel with butter and a medium chocolate caramel latte with milk and sugar. Instead I received a medium cup filled with ice, milk, chocolate and caramel flavoring, maybe just a pinch of sugar, and... that was it. I am not sure how one forgets the coffee in an iced coffee, but it was close to the last straw. I had a 10-hour shift today and desperately needed the caffeine- too bad I waited until I got to work to take my first sip. Rookie mistake, sure, and maybe I deserved it for not checking before I left the drive-thru window. But it is not my job to make sure my order is correct, I paid to receive a delicious drink and was robbed of the satisfaction that usually comes with that first sip of Dunkin Donuts coffee.



Hoping to at least cheer myself up with my breakfast, I opened my bagel, and there was so much butter slathered on it that the butter was literally dripping out of the wrapper. I had to scrape a good amount off to even be able to eat the bagel- which was cold.



I do enjoy Dunkin Donuts, and the convenience of the Short Pump store (it being right next to my work) made grabbing coffee and a doughnut before work always made my day. But this location is inexplicably taken a turn for the worst and is now substandard at best. Since the only other one in my area is at the other end of town, I will no longer be a regular. I will miss my Dunkin coffee and hope that one day this location will turn around.
