Provided by YP.comI have used Gearbox Transmissions 3 times now and they are the best in town..I recommend them to anyone that has a trans problem..1st time was a Passat that every other shop said needed a new tranny...however gearbox fixed it for less than a 3rd of the prices and it lasted another 100,000 before I sold it still working strong...next was a 2010 ford fusion..they replaced the trans..ordered the correct one (after I ordered the wrong one)..and did the work for less than a 3rd of other quotes..still running strong 60,000mi afterwards...next and most recent was my 2000 honda ..clutch master cylinder went out..fast fix..cheap price and impeccable work quality..very honest about your problems...fast repairs and the best prices to fix them for you..I highly recommend them and challenge you to find better work quality or a better price.

Provided by YP.comI had my transmission repaired at Gearbox in Richmond Va. During the repair, they broke my transfer case and falsified the documentation stating that it was leaking when the vehicle was brought into the shop. They attempted to repair the transfer case they broke with JB Weld and when this failed they wanted me to pay them to fix something they broke because they were negligent.
Buyer beware.
I turned down Rob's offer thru the BBB for me to pay him a reduced rate to fix the transfer case he and his crew negligently broke.

Provided by YP.comIt was not a pleasant experience, but the fault did not lie with Robert or the shop. The part that was needed for my 2010 BMW 750Li Transmission were on back order causing quite a delay in getting my vehicle repaired. It was a bad situation that Robert tried to make the best of by keeping me informed, answering my phone calls and trying to find alternate suppliers. Beyond that, Robert was empathetic to my situation of having to spend extra money on a rental car. So much so, that when his guys that had to reprogram my vehicle were further delayed, Robert offered me compensation for some of the extra costs that I incurred.
I have never dealt with a repair shop that treated it's customers so well before. And despite this not being a pleasurable experience (as so often is the case in getting your vehicle repaired, and again it was outside the control of Robert) I would recommend Robert for all your transmission needs because of the thorough job, quality of work, communication, empathy and understanding he provides. Where most shops would have shrugged their shoulders and threw up their hands with a "oh well, it's not my fault" attitude, I felt that Robert stepped up and let me vent my frustration. The price was also a great savings over what the BMW dealer wanted to charge me.

Provided by YP.comI took my 98 accord in to get the transmission rebuilt, and they did a great job, stayed within the quote, and were extremely easy to work with. A year later, the transmission is still running strong.

Provided by YP.comThe transmission on my 2001 Honda odyssey started to slip and slipped completely driving to W.VA. To get right to the point I spoke with the owner, really down to earth fella, I gave him my concerns, budget was tight Blah Blah Blah and he reassured me.These guys did a great job. I have been driving over a year without a single problem with the transmission. . You either get the job done wright the first time or do it yourself and in this case I got lucky.

Provided by YP.comFirst, I have NEVER written a review on anything. I wanted to take the time to write one in hopes I would save some other poor soul the troubles that I experienced. This transmission "specialty" shop had my car (BMW) a total of 12 days to replace the torque converter. I had it with them a total of 7 days the first time and it broke down 100 miles later! Back to them for another 5 days. The car still does not run properly. They "claim" its not a transmission problem, but BMW says otherwise. I am debating on suing them... but not sure if it's worth time and effort. Will definitely report them to BBB.
