David Turner is a private practice psychotherapist living and working in Richmond, VA. In 1989 he created the position of Critical Incidents Manager for the City of Richmond, an outreach program for families of murder victims. For his work with recently released offenders with drug history David was selected by Governor Wilder for The 1993 Governor's Award for Anti-Drug Efforts in Treatment. David graduated Columbia University, New York City in 1972, and graduate school at the University of Tennessee School of Social Work in 1976. He did post-graduate training at The Advanced Institute for Analytic Psychotherapy in New York. David’s areas of specialization include counseling and psychotherapy with Couples experiencing relationship problems; Individual and Group treatment for anger and depression; addictive problems including substance abuse, eating and other forms of behavioral self-abuse. David is also available for Workplace consultation; employee discipline issues; and on-site post-accident group counseling.
