Verizon Virginia s principal activity is to provide basic type of domestic wireless telecommunications services. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon Communications. It provides two basic types of telecommunications services, exchange telecommunication service and exchange access service. Exchange telecommunication service provides transmission of telecommunications among customers located within a local calling area within a LATA. Exchange access services link a customer's premises and the transmission facilities of other telecommunications carriers, generally interLATA carriers. Other services provided by the company include customer premises wiring and maintenance, billing and collection and pay telephone services. Local services typically account for nearly 55 percent of revenues while network access services account for approximately 40 percent and long distance and other services account for more than 5 percent. Verizon Virginia is headquartered in Richmond, Va.
