We moved out here a year and a half ago and needed a place to rent. I went to Vaughn Realty to inquire about a house I found, they gave me the keys to go look at it myself and when I did a walk through and asked them about doing repairs such as holes in the wall (big ones) and repainting due to all the other patched disasters they told me that if it wasn't a safety or security issue then they won't do anything about it. My husband smartly talked me out of wanting to rent it by saying 'If they won't help us now, they won't help us later' which I've heard a lot of from other unfortunate renters. My advice would be to steer clear of these people, I've never heard anything good about them and am really surprised that they've stayed in business for so long.

Avoid Vaughn Realty.



I moved to Ridgecrest the day before my job was to start. I was told by the rental manager, Kim Alexander, that I could move in on a Sunday but when I arrived with a truck full of furniture, the office was closed. I was able to get in contact with someone who happened to be cleaning the office that day, who contacted Kim. Kim then claimed to have no idea what I was talking about. When we did get the keys on Monday, we found that the gas had been on with the stove's pilot light out for several months and the place was filled with the smell of gas. This, after Kim had assured us that a walk-through had been done the week before to correct several things we found when we toured it.



Several months later, after being put off multiple times when asking for the rental company to fix basic things (leaking faucets and sprinkler system being especially costly in the desert in the summer), Kim told me point blank that I call her too much and she doesn't like renters like me.



I will never do business with Vaughn Realty again specifically because of Kim Alexander.

My wife and I were moving from Va to Ca, and charged a credit check fee of $15 each by Vaughn Realty for a house we had chosen, and we provided all forms and information required. We were told (before the fee was charged) that everything was on track and looking good, they were just awaiting verification of employment, which we provided. Within days of receiving our payment, we called back and were told that they "didn't feel good about it" because we were not in town. We had a sister in town that was acting on our behalf (viewing the house, handing our payment over, ect...) which they had said was not an issue from the beginning. Save your money and time, avoid Vaughn Realty as we now will.
