I worked at this school as a teacher at least two years before transferring to another school district and eventually retiring. I was thrilled to leave this school district. This school district is ranked as one of the worst districts in the state of South Carolina and I can attest to this beginning with the high school:

During the first few weeks of the school year at this school I observed everything from inappropriate conduct from the students to no support from school administrators as well as district administrators. The majority of the students roam the halls and disturb the other classes. The halls smelled of cigarette smoke and many fire alarms were set off by the students. I was in total disbelief at the chaotic atmosphere in the classrooms and hallways.

The majority of the students cannot read, yet I never saw any administrators from the special services department in the classrooms to offer any support. The school administrators as well as the district administrators work separately, therefore there is no organization between the two resulting in a chaotic atmosphere for teachers as well as students.

I can see why this school and the school district is ranked at rock bottom when it comes to test scores and will continue to do so,
