Established in 1959, Southern Bulk Haulers was formed as a joint venture between Geo. A. Rheman Company and Matlack Trucking Company for the bulk transportation of cement for Giant Cement Company. Southern Bulk Haulers is operated by Southern Tank Transport, which was founded in 1994 as a house carrier for Blue Circle Cement. The company employs more than 300 people and operates a fleet of over 250 tractors. Southern Tank Transport serves in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and Texas.
