Established in 1968 as Riverdale Junior High School, Riverdale Middle School is a public facility that serves students in grades six through eight. Its core curriculum includes language arts, science, social studies and mathematics. The school also offers connection classes in art, family and consumer science, industrial technology, computer keyboarding, physical education, health and foreign languages. Located in Riverdale, Ga., Riverdale Middle School features more than 50 instructional units, including laboratory areas designed for art, home economics, music and technology instruction. Its media center has closed-circuit broadcasting capabilities and Internet access. The school s classrooms feature multimedia laptop computers and whiteboards. Its staff includes instructional technology specialists, literacy coaches, counselors, student resource officers, custodians, paraprofessionals and more than 65 teachers. Riverdale Middle School has an enrollment of over 850 students.
