The Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority, also known as SAWPA, is one of the leading regional water agencies in California. Founded in 1968, it is a government agency that plans and builds facilities to protect the water quality of the Santa Ana River Watershed. The agency partners with planners, water quality experts, legislators, government agencies, and design and construction engineers to work on a range of water management projects.
