This place is a nice little piece of history in Riverside. The restaurants are amazing. During Christmas we bring the kids to see the lights.

We are having our daughter's wedding at The Mission Inn this August 2011. She fell in love with The Mission Inn at a wedding fair last fall. The staff has been wonderful and helpful, especially since we are planning long distance. The spa staff and hotel staff have also been great. The wedding coordinator is very nice and very professional. I cannot wait to see the pictures of her beautiful wedding at this beautiful venue. I will write another review after, but I know it will be more of the same.

The mission is so beautiful no matter the time of year but at Christmas it is lit up with light and is so charming. Take time for take a carriage ride around it! I have been going there for years and I remember when I was a kid and it was being remodeled. It’s one of my favorite places. I love the old, mystery and charm of the place. They have great docent tours too! You get to go and see things up close and hear a little history of the place. I have always had wonderful service, food and drink while there.

If you'd like to have a nice quiet drink with a great atmosphere, try the presidential lounge. I recommend the steak nachos.

Don't give them your business! Very unprofessional!

We wanted to have our reception for our wedding at the Mission Inn Restaurant. We wanted the more intimate feeling of a restaurant, rather than a reception hall. We sat down with one of their event planners 9 months before our wedding date to go over details. They told us that everything would be fine, and that we needed to wait 4 months till the actual date to finalize our reservations and put down a deposit. They told us that they were holding that date for us, but they couldn't officially make a reservation for us till 4 months till (that should have been a red flag). So we called when we were suppose too, about 5 months after we sat down with someone, and they decided to inform us then that they could not accommodate our group. Why they waited to tell us this months after we talked to someone, I don't know. To say that we were furious would be an understatement. They waited till the last minute to tell us that we couldn't do it there, not only that but for us to find a new venue in such short notice was almost impossible. Couples reserve their venues a year in advance. They never once admitted that they were wrong. They lost out on a lot of money that day. We ended up finding a winery that could fit us in. It ended up being a different date, but we feel that it actually worked out for the better. I feel that we dodged a bullet. Who knows what they would have done on our wedding day. They acting like everything would be taken car of, then they completely changes their story, like we had made everything up. They were very unprofessional. They will never get our business again.

historic

The holidays are the perfect time to visit the Mission Inn. It's a historical landmark just featured on Good Morning America, and they have over 3 million lights for the Holidays. Many presidents have visited, and the rooms are comfortable.
