Southland Elementary serves more than 900 students in kindergarten through grade six. Founded in 1974, the school s facilities include a playground, media center, computer lab and learning centers. Its resource team, speech therapists and guidance specialists assists students with learning disabilities, physical handicaps and emotional problems. The school s curriculum includes reading, math, language arts, art and science. It additionally offers various gifted and talented education classes. The school s parent-teacher association and the school community council assist with school activities and regularly give input on important school issues. Located in Riverton, Utah, the school is a part of the Jordan School District.
