Ryan Short is originally from Bridgewater, Virginia and has lived up and down the I-81 corridor throughout his life. He completed his undergraduate degree at Emory and Henry College. During this time, he participated in athletics and experienced an orthopedic surgery and recovery first hand. After several years in a different career field Ryan returned to Emory and Henry as a part of the School of Health Sciences inaugural Master of Physician Assistant Studies program. Ryan was drawn to Orthopedics because of its hands-on evaluation, treatment, and vast improvement that can be seen in patient's overall quality of life. He now lives in Roanoke with his wife, two cats, and six chickens. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, live music, and fitness.
