Specializing in individual, couples, marriage/family therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship/communication issues, grief/loss, trauma. As a dually Licensed Professional Counselor, and Marriage & Family Therapist, I strive to help clients find solutions to a variety of problems. I have many clients who come to see me, and am proud to say that my clients graduate themselves from our work together because they get better and move on, not because they have had a negative experience. I am often surprised at the lengths clients have to go through to find a therapist who is a good fit, and, unfortunately, have had many of them tell me of bad experiences before they find me. I have worked very hard to build a respectable reputation in the community of Oakland and Macomb counties. I have been told that what clients like most about me is my ability to be respectful, transparent, genuine, and straightforward. They like my empathic, no-nonsense approach to therapy because it doesn't shame, judge, or blame, but works towards accountability, ownership, and change. I get down to business and help them figure out how they developed their problems and then we fix them together. To be able to help clients solve their problems without pressuring them to be fixed is an art I have come to love practicing. Some clients want me to be very gentle and others want me to challenge them, so I work with clients at a pace that is comfortable; everyone is different. Clients say they respect me, look forward to coming to sessions, and benefit from the work we do together. I have successfully built a private practice over the last 6 years, and help as many people as my schedule will allow on a weekly basis. I work Monday-Fridays from approximately 11am to 9pm, and am happy to do my best to accommodate your schedule. I view my role as a therapist as a consultant to individuals, couples and families. I focus on creating an environment based on respect, transparency, genuineness, and straightforwardness. I do not judge, shame, or blame people for what ails. I just help them get better.
