Twelve Corners Middle School is located in Rochester, N.Y., and has more than 850 students in grades six through eight. It is one of the few middle schools in the district and offers subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, computer studies, music, art, and health and physical education. About 10 percent of the students are foreign born with an additional minority population coming from the city of Rochester through the school s participation in the Urban-Suburban program. The school uses an AB block format that enables most classes to meet every other day for 80 minutes. The school involves all sixth graders in an annual outdoor education program.
