I am a client of CLTC, part of SC's Medicaid program. I am disabled, suffering the long-term residual effects of a near-fatal disease; among those are very low stamina and quick/easy fatigue. I was approved for a few hours once a week for "PC1" service (basically light housekeeping) to help me maintain my household chores. I was given a long list of available service providers to choose from, and I chose New Horizons because they were local and well-known. I was unfamiliar with most of the entries on that list. After 8 weeks, when my assigned worker has shown up late 5 of 8 times, and called out the other 3, I am fairly appalled at New Horizon's ineptness and failure to adequately manage its staff. On the occasions when my worker HAS shown up for the job, she has monopolized every minute of my time while she was here, failed to complete even the most basic tasks, and spent an inordinate amount of time on personal cell phone calls. I am requesting a different provider.
