It's a new day at The Pet Village. In August 2019, it was taken over by new owners who have gotten rid of all live animal sales - no more puppies, kittens, fish, rats, etc., and gotten rid of all the random pet supplies. The new owners come from the animal rescue world and approach the business differently. They now only offer grooming, bathing and cageless boarding services. Their focus is on the basics instead of trying to be all-things to all-people and not being awesome at any of them.

I have in all purchased a good bit of animals from this place and both dogs have health issues and the ferret I bought 6 months ago just passed away. The vet paper work is false I just researched that and along with all the other reviews those women are plane out rude. I'm a veteran and they speak to me like im trash. If you care anything for animals don't buy them from there ,they'll die.

Echoing the review from 7/18/2015, we have had numerous terrible experiences here over the years. It's like you never know how the staff will treat you when you walk in - will they treat you like decent human beings or will they be insufferably rude to you? Usually it's the latter. And based on our experiences, they've only been friendly to us if we purchase something. Otherwise we're treated with insufferable rudeness. Please note, the following is only one of many rude experiences we have had at this store. After our most recent visit we have surely, finally, learned our lesson. I was having a bad day and wanted to see puppies (because, who doesn't like to see puppies when they're having a bad day?). We also needed treats for our rabbit. So we stopped in to Pet Village. One of the owners greeted us and chatted us up when we showed some interest in their various litters of puppies. She stopped talking with us to speak to someone on the phone. My girlfriend and I were each holding a puppy, and held them close to one another to compare their sizes (so small!). Suddenly the owner yells into the phone, "HOLD ON A SECOND" and then to us, "C'MON Y'ALL, THOSE ARE FROM DIFFERENT LITTERS, DON'T BE PUTTIN' THEM UP IN EACH OTHER'S FACES." Her tone was mid-way between yelling and an exasperated sigh. Because evidently we are imbeciles and deserve to be treated as such.We stared at her wide-eyed in disbelief and carefully set the puppies down. Did she really just speak to us like that? Maybe a "Hey y'all, please don't hold them so close to each other? Thanks." No. Had to yell at us like we're misbehaving children. We are in our 30's. I turned to my girlfriend and said, “Well, I'm ready to go.” And we left. We will not be returning.

Will never go here again! This place is HORRIBLE. They have very poor customer service, the lady(not sure if her name) who works there with gray hair and glasses does not know how to speak to customers. We were yelled at and made to feel uncomfortable. She was even rude while leaving a msg for a customer to come pick up their dog. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Are you people with all these complaints about sick and dying puppies aware that SC has a puppy lemon law? It covers you because the purchase was made in SC. Not matter if your not from SC or not. You can get every bit of your purchase money back PLUS vet bills covered to the cost of the puppy. You need to check into this. Most of these reviews are very recent.

You can contact the BBB in Charlotte, NC (which covers our area). You can let them know your aware of the SC puppy lemon law and I bet they'll sing a different song.

South Carolina has a horrible reputation for not taking care of animal abuse, but their one of only a handful of states that have Puppy Lemon Laws.
