I have been seeing Dr. Assaf for 10+ years for epilepsy. I had absence seizures when I was young and evolved into the grand mals when I was a teenager, went through many many doctors to try and get them controlled. No luck. Went to Iowa city, mayo clinic and nothing. We were finally referred to Dr. Assaf. He was able to find where my seizures are starting which is the left frontal lobe and find the right combination of medication for me quickly. My epilepsy is controlled thanks to Dr. Assaf. Will always recommend him.

Dr. Assaf is a very caring physician. He takes the time to listen and to explain the medical problems to the patient and the family. He was finally able to spot and identify the problem why giving good and realistic treatment options while giving us a head start to our treatment journey

I had a rather serious medical event last summer. EVERY other medical professional I consulted with had prematurely diagnosed me as being a risk for seizures. I felt like I had something wrong with me but it wasn’t seizures.

When Dr. Assaf began seeing me he made no assumptions or diagnosis until all testing had been complete. Dr. Assaf was incredibly thorough and compassionate throughout the process. No stone was left unturned in trying to find the proper diagnosis.

He is a medical professional that holds a high bar for standard of care. I felt very comfortable with his diagnosis and his care instructions moving forward.

We have always had great experiences with Dr. Assaf's office. The front staff is kind, patient, helpful. Dr. Assaf is thorough and respectful. He takes his time and answers all our questions. He offers additional resources and encourages us to reach out if we need anything between regularly scheduled appointments.

My mother was seen in this office by Dr. Assaf. We requested a neurosurgery referral to the University of Iowa and/or Mayo Clinic for an opinion about the surgery option. The recommendations at the University of Iowa were similar to those by Dr. Assaf. We canceled the other opinion at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Assaf was very thorough and explained her condition well. She was seen promptly after she completed paperwork. The office was very prompt in sharing the records with the University of Iowa and the primary care physician. The staff was always helpful and they kept us informed. Excellent service; 10/10.

Dr. Assaf and his staff have always been quick and accommodating to my needs. The office is very clean and organized. The staff is very caring and patient, They call and check up on my current conditions and always call ahead of time to remind me of future appointments that I have. Always a pleasurable experience each visit. 10/10 would recommend.

I was sent to Dr. Assaf by another doctor having having some minor vision problems. I was told be another doctor my vision problems were more than likely cause by migraines. However because I am/ or at least was a CDL driver I needed doctors clearance to return to work. I have a history of MS but I have had no problems since 2005.
