We recently kenneled our 6 month old dog at Desert View Animal Hospital for four days while we traveled out of town for a wedding. We specifically asked to be called if anything went wrong or if our puppy was having a hard time, because we had made alternate plans to have him picked up early if needed. We received no calls and when we picked him up we were told he did fine. We noticed however that his paws were damp and he smelled awful. We gave him a bath ourselves when we got him home and noticed he had burns and puss filled blisters on his stomach and back legs. He also had a large scab along his left eye. I immediately called the Desert View and they told me to drop him off for the vet to examine. I was later called and informed that he had "urine burn" due to him going to the bathroom in the kennel. I asked the woman if he had been bathed and her response was "I'm sure he was." I then had to call back and ask about his eye, which they had neglected to check. They returned my call and I was told that he was very anxious in the kennel and repeatedly rubbed his face on the metal bars until it started bleeding. I asked them why they did not notice this and inform us and why they did not take any measures to stop him, but they had no answer. The vet told me he was bathed "frequently." My fiancé was later told he was bathed "twice." Before we made the arrangements we specifically asked how many times he would be let out a day and we were told he would be let out every two hours each day. When we returned we were informed he was only let out once every twelve hours on the weekend days and that it was on the agreement. A staff member also told us "do you see how many kennels we have? We can't inspect all the dogs" as an excuse for our dog's poor condition. We were later told by a manager that they "provided all the agreed upon services" and she said she was sorry we felt they provided poor services, but took no accountability for their neglect and refused to provide a refund. All the blame was put on us and our dog for going to the bathroom in his kennel, even though he was left in there for twelve hours! To us this is unacceptable treatment and clearly neglect. I know for sure we will never return to this business, and others should know about this when making their own decision.

I recently moved here from Houston, TX. Our first week in Rock Springs was very stressful; my 15 yo beagle required an extensive dental, and one day later my 15 1/2 yo beagle was in dire need of pain management. Not knowing anybody and having no references made ot a difficult quest for a vet. I took a chance on Desert View; I initially wasn't impressed with the young and seemingly uninterested front desk staff. However, Dr. Stephanie more than made up for it. I called the clinic at midnight, as my beagle girl was obviously in much pain (due to hip arthritis and too many stairs climbed). Dr. Stephanie was on the phone immediately and offered to meet me at the clinic right away. She listened and made a suggestion to use human pain meds I already had to get her through the night, thereby saving me $100 from an emergency visit. Dr. Stephanie successfully treated the pain and now has my girl on monthly Adequain injections. Her appetite is back to normal and she's no longer on pain meds. In three months she turns sixteen, and I owe Dr Stephanie a world of gratitude for helping her get there.

My dog was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The vet explained everything so that I could have a good understanding of what was going on. After weighing all the options I finally came to the conclusion to put her to sleep. I was taken care of right away and the cremation process was explained to me thoroughly as well as the euthanasia process. I am so greatful they were there to help me through this hard time. The cremation box and paw print I had chosen were so neatly done. I will have her for all of my days.

I have been taking my pets to Desert View Animal Hospital for over 2 years now. Every time I go I am impressed by the compasion and care the staff show my animals. I recommend them to all my friends who own pets.

I was faced recently with having to put my beloved dog to sleep. At the time of euthanasia, I specifically asked if they used a local pet cremation service and was told yes. I found out after the fact that my dog was in fact shipped out of state to be cremated. The knowledge that my sweet dog was stuffed in a box and shipped off like some defective part is almost as heartbreaking as losing him was.

We had to take our older dog in due to illness and ultimately had to make the decision to put her down and Dr Stephanie was so great with walking us through the whole process and the creamation stage and staying with us till late in the night while we said our goodbyes. i would highly suggest this vet to anyone, i've not had good experience with other vets in town!! our other dog is still as healthy as ever thanks to their help.

Took my cat here after not being satisfied with another vet who seemed to have an attitude that since she is so old it wasn't worth his time. I have no doubt that the wonderful folks at Desert View saved her life. They didn't bat an eye at her advanced age and were really great about allowing me to take her home at night to save on overnight costs. Highly reccommend this place.

Charged almost double of what they quoted my dog's surgery would cost... Surgery quality was poor, with stitches falling out within a day.
