Arrived at 12:45 PM and was greeted by Dr. Shumaker's assistant. She performed a few standard tests and then escorted me to Dr. Shumaker's examination office. Dr. Shumaker was very thorough and took the time to explain each and every test and every part of the examination. He was very professional and friendly at all times. He informed me of possibly changes that may occur in my eyes as I age. He also checked not only my prescription for contact lenses, but also my eyeglasses that are bifocals. Fortunately my prescription remained the same so my contacts and eyeglasses remained the same. He also informed me that my right eyelid is becoming droopy and said it is still OK, but down the road there is a possibility that I may need minor surgery to correct the condition. Upon completion he gathered all the paperwork and printed out a copy of my current prescription for future reference. I can honestly say that over the 50 years of eyeglass and contact examinations that this was the best by far.
