10/17/22. First of all, when we arrived and checked in, we were admonished for not having an appointment even though the website clearly states that walk-ins are welcome. The blood draw area was very small, cramped and cluttered. The processing area was right in the same area where blood is drawn with many patient specimens in view - a possible HIPAA violation. It took three tries for the staff to obtain one tube of blood from my husband, who is not ordinarily a difficult draw. The first phlebotomist, Emily, was clearly inexperienced. In my husband's words she did a lot of "fishing around" without success before asking a second person, (who apparently concealed her name badge so we could not see it) for assistance. This second person examined his other arm and appeared confident, but after also "fishing" and not obtaining any blood, she turned him over to "her boss" Brittany and blamed the failure on my husband's "rolling veins." Brittany did successfully complete the venipuncture and apologized for the "extra pokes." Her technique, however, was not optimal. Needless to say, we will not return there for any blood work.
