Lonza Rockland, located in Rockland, Maine, supplies products for electrophoretic separations. In the 1970s the company was known as Marine Colloids. FMC Corporation purchased Marine Colloids in 1977 and FMC BioProducts was born. In 1999, Cambrex Corporation purchased FMC BioProducts and its name was changed to BioWhittaker Molecular Applications. In 2002, it was changed again to Cambrex Bio Science Rockland.
