If you think you would enjoy NYSE - level stress for ditchdigger pay and working with high intensity micromanagement, then I would recommend DGEI's Slideline department.



Rampant favoritism.



Clean facility; lower-level management, in at least one dept., not so much. The rule of thumb here would be: "Watch your back - always."



Most employees are very nice, good-natured people and easy to get along with. Have met a few keepers there.



Pay: Abysmal, especially for the level of quality they demand. Raises are miniscule; nickels and dimes - literally - with .25 considered maximum, for excellent performance.



Many cannot afford the so-so insurance package offered, however DEGI currently offers free health insurance after 5 years' employment. One suspects knowing all along that the chances of surviving there more than 3 months are slim at best. But at least they take care of their own, once you have made it through the gauntlet.



Disciplinary policy is, for most, "3 strikes/out", in your production or quality, with any and all "strikes", no matter how many years have passed since your last one, to be counted in, if they decide to kick you to the curb for any reason. Attendance, punctuality, performing at 110% consistently, speed and accuracy means nothing. Being friendly, helpful, cordial and considerate to management and co-workers means nothing. If you are unable to reach that golden level of favoritism that is evidently required to advance, you will never be secure in your job. But the pay sucks even for the favorites, so we do have that in common.
