In reading this review, please understand that #1: My husband, son, and I have been salt water fishing off charters for at least eight years and although we do not feel we are good enough to be in tournaments, we are certainly not beginners. #2: This is the first bad review I have ever submitted for a fishing charter captain.



Do NOT use Redfish Charters with Captain Newton. Although he helped us find three fish we could keep, he was rude to us and appeared to be angry about something all day.



To start the day, he was a bit late to arrive/put his boat into the water. We were standing at the boat launch (the only people present) and although it was obvious we were waiting for him, he ignored us. Confused but wanting to be friendly, we asked if he was our captain and introduced ourselves (as he was ignoring/not saying anything to us). As I got into the boat I questioned if everything was fine (as he appeared to be angry at something). His reply was that he was fine but throughout the day he only talked when asked a direct question, never gave any direction, and rolled his eyes/grimaced and shook his head when we did something he did not like. The only time he smiled/laughed is when he told several "off-color" jokes.

At one time, he very angrily grabbed my pole and shoved it to the floor saying "Get your pole down!"

When he wanted to walk past us (in the boat), he "waved/motioned" for us to get out his way rather than say something such as "Pardon" or "Excuse me."

In summary, use another captain or save your $500.00.
