Crusader Lutheran Church was established as Rockville, Maryland's first Lutheran Church in 1952. Today, we're a welcoming, community-focused & growing congregation within the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The ELCA is the nation's fifth-largest Protestant denomination, with 4.8 million baptized members. Crusader Lutheran is also serves as a hub of community services, hosting such diverse organizations as Alcoholics Anonymous & Al-Anon, Girl Scouts, Meals-on-Wheels and Community Ministries of Rockville's Latino Outreach Program ( LOP ). We are also a valued partner of Manna Food Center, which provides food to 2, 000 neighbors every month; the City of Rockville's Adopt-a-Stream Program; and Lutheran World Relief, one of the key providers of aid to victims of the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake in Haiti. We've designed this web site to help you get to know Crusader a bit better, with detailed information on our and 5 core ministries, which provide great service opportunities to help people in our community and throughout the world. You'll be able to find out more about our dynamic pastor, the Rev. Sandra Cox Shaw, and the powerful sermons she delivers. And if you'd like to visit us on a Sunday morning, we'll help you prepare with directions, answers to your FAQs, a primer on Lutheran beliefs, downloadable brochures and more. Can't find what you're looking for on our website? Would you'd like to know more about something on these pages? Please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you - or better yet, meeting you soon!
