Each day Dr. Hetz brings a spirit of service and a desire for patient success to his practice. Patients enjoy his good-humored personality and highly professional approach to all aspects of care. Dr. Hetz is a board certified endodontist with over 15 years experience in dentistry. To obtain board certification he has completed an extensive set of examinations and interviews designed to test exceptional knowledge, skill and expertise in the specialty of endodontics. Currently, only 19% of endodontists practicing in the U.S. have attained diplomatic status. Dr. Hetz is an Advocate for Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialists where he works with a variety of experts all over the country as a Key Opinion Leader to study and perfect treatment solutions in the field of endodontics. Dr. Hetz continues to be voted one of Washington's "Top Dentists" in a survey of his peers conducted by Washingtonian magazine. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps from 1997-2006 finishing his service as the endodontic instructor for Advanced Education program for general dentists. He continues as a special consultant for the U.S. Navy endodontic residents preparing for board certification. Dr. Hetz is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry in the United States Air Force and received his specialty Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he is a member of the District of Columbia Dental Society, Southern Maryland Dental Society, Maryland State Dental Association, American Dental Association and Specialist Member of the American Association of Endodontists. He lives in the District of Columbia and when he is not practicing or teaching endodontics he enjoys spending time with his two boys, Jake and Max.
