My mother is beginning chemoth...

My mother is beginning chemotherapy for cancer this week, during which she will lose her hair. She asked for a head covering for sanitation purposes, and the owner told her it would be $2 to use one. She asked if she could try it on without, and he just waved his arm at her. My mom tried on a bright red wig, and he snorted like he was making fun of her, and told her she should go to the party store. I made sure he knew she had cancer, and asked if he had any more wigs in bright colors.



The owner then told us that she wasn't allowed to try on any more wigs, and we should leave the store. I calmly told him that the way he was treating our family wasn't a way to retain customers, and he yelled 'get out!' to the family. He grabbed me by the arm and shoved my 13-year old sister. I told him not to touch either of us, and he continued to push us out the door



I have never experienced such an unbelievable display of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of a store employee/owner. Mocking my mother the day before she begins chemo...shoving and grabbing young women to force them out of a store...we were just shocked and appalled at being treated this way.

Rudest Customer Service

I had the same experience as frenchfries. I went in and wanted a wig to wear out and about on the town. I tried to explain to the woman that I wanted something different from my natural hair and longer. She never offered any suggestions and instead just followed my friend and I around the store while I tried on different styles. Finally, we asked her if it would be okay if we tried on a few and just called her over when we found something. She said yes, but a few minutes later the store manager came over and told us that I could not try on anymore wigs and I should go to the mall instead. Just like frenchfries, there were no other customers in the building and no reason that I shouldn't be allowed to look around. I have many friends who buy and wear wigs...I will not be sending them to this store.

POOR SERVICE

I visited this store on March 10, 2010 and was very disappointed in the attitude of the employee/owner of the store. He was very rude and had no patience when dealing with customers. I have never worn a wig and wanted one just for the sake of not doing my hair on bad weather days. I tried on 4 wigs (one at a time, and he got frustrated by staying, “you do not try on any more.” I was the only person in the store at lunch time and could not believe what I heard as if a customer was an inconvenience. DO NOT Shop this store. I am surprise they are still in business with such poor customer service, lack of business acumen, and overall poor inventory. Save your time, money, and go elsewhere!

Great Service

I visited Empire Wigs when I started chemotherapy to find a reasonable looking wig. I found the gentleman there very helpful, not at all pushy and had great advice as to what would be the best choice in terms of style and shade. He did not steer me to the most expensive and was very kind. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Customer Service Reigns

As the previous reviewer states, this store is not the biggest, but it has the best customer service. The selection was also ample. The owner was indeed patient and helpful. He made good recommendations related to style and color. I would indeed recommend this shop!!
