Established in 1961, Julius West Middle School is an International Baccalaureate world school that serves more than 950 students in sixth through eighth grades. In addition to the regular subjects, the school conducts classes for students with emotional, learning and academic disabilities, as well as organizes the Multidisciplinary Educational Training and Support program. Julius West Middle School supports the National History Day, which conducts skill instruction, one-on-one guidance, peer support and guest speakers classes. It maintains several school organizations, such as a chorus, green team, jazz ensemble and yearbook group, as well as homework, math, drama and science clubs. Located in Rockville, Md., Julius West Middle School is administered by Montgomery County Public Schools, which has an enrollment of over 138,000 students and operates nearly 20 schools.
