This facility STILL addresses "oil change"services as we have the last 35yrs. on this corner and the same way as we have as far back to the 1960s.The car is road tested by a technician.the car is observed for any road noises,obvious safty issues,directional signals,wipers,horn and as it is pulled into the shop it is checked for all lights functioning.While servicing the underside, all of the drive axles are sprayed with a rubber lubricant as well as all body and suspension bushings in addition to the fuel and brake lines and brake cables.The battery is tested and all door locks/latches/hinges are lubricated.As well as applying grease to the turn stops after the safty of the steering & suspension componets are inspected.There is a $3.99 charge for all of this and it is inserted in the chassis lube catagory of the billing. IF this is a "rip off"in someones mind I think you should ask the aprx.160 customers a month that go through a lot of inconvinence to leave their vehicles here for that reason..better yet ask the ones you dont. PS: 5/30 and 10/30 oil is a weight of oil used in some cars when they are new. After a lot of miles are accumulated or evidence of oil consumption is noticed it is common to move up the weight or viscosity of the oil installed to account for engine wear accumulated over the years for the benefit of the customer.YES we still have 5/30 and all others on hand that are needed and it is all "top shelf".And as far as the term inferior parts? we have always used the best parts available on all repairs and replacements,unless requested otherwise by the customer.
