PAY IN CASH if you have no alternative to this location. While this complaint is specific to this location rather than U-haul I would think twice about doing business with a company which would allow people such as these to represent them.

When I first contacted this store I was informed that my cost would be $115., plus mileage and fuel. When I went to pick up the truck that offer was no longer available so I had to leave a cash deposit which was understandable, although I would have appreciated it if I had been informed that this would be necessary. After leaving the lot the oil light came on so I called the rep to inform her to which she replied that it was normal but I could check the oil if I wanted to. This is officially my first major issue I have with this agent. I am not responsible for the maintenance of a vehicle I rent for top dollar. As far as I'm concerned, as a customer I expect such routine issues to be handled before I take responsibility for the property. All went smooth after that until the day after I returned the truck. First thing in the morning I received a text message informing me that my rental was overdue, even though I returned the truck on time. I called the agent to find out why I was getting said message and she informed me that everything was ok, they just had not yet updated the system. It was at this time we discussed the fuel level. Although I had put gas in the vehicle I did underestimate the size of the tank so I had to give her a credit card number so she could top it off. I also asked about any balance that remained on the account, but she did not at that time know if I still owed or if I was entitled to a refund so I agreed to await her call at which time we could make arrangements to settle. The call never came, so I assumed my initial deposit, plus the charge to my account for gas covered the total fee. Just over two weeks later I noticed two more charges to my account so I called to ask why I was being charged without my consent. Rather than an apology for the "misunderstanding" I was told that there was a balance that had not been settled and she had been trying to charge my account for over a week. I do not dispute the charges, although in the end the total cost of this rental was more than double what she originally told me it would be. My complaint is that rather than informing me that I had a balance due, as the lady told me she would, she just helped herself to my money without so much as the phone call she had promised. This particular account does not get much use and therefore I do not typically keep a balance of more than a few dollars. I consider myself fortunate that the charges were rejected rather than over-drafted, especially considering that she made two small charges instead of one single charge for the entire balance. In summary, I found this agent to be far less than professional from beginning to end of our business and would not recommend her to anyone who has another option.
