Founded in 1998, the Early Learning Institute is a nonprofit organization that provides and promotes developmental services, education and support to young children and their families in a variety of settings. Based in Rohnert Park, Calif., the institute serves children with developmental delays and disabilities in their homes or other natural environment and provides support for child care providers serving typically developing children and children with special needs. the Early Learning Institute extends its services to nearly 200 families of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds throughout Sonoma County. Some of its programs and activities include The Behavioral Consultation Project, a free, on-site consultation to childcare and preschool programs; Infant S.O.S, a county-wide program that provides support to parents during their first year of life; Wee Play Community Preschool; and Watch Me Grow, a county-wide program providing social emotional and developmental screenings to 5-year olds and younger children.
