When I rent an apartment from JOHN PROFIGE at 368 Carnation drive, East Yaphank ny 11967, he asked me to sign a multiple page lease. When he told me it's one year lease, I told him that I may only rent for half year. He said no problem, just sign it. When I move out after 7 months, John did not return my $950 deposit as I signed one year lease.



I filed a small claim. The arbitrator said "in American, only writing count". I ask the court for a new trial before a Judge. The judge award me $950. (for deposit, as "both parties verbally agreed for 6 months"), and award John $950 (as I broken one year lease I signed). The finally judgment in favor of Plaintiff is to award $0.



I asked John many times: if half year is not acceptable to him, why he told me it's no problem when I specially told him about it. For me, it's deceive, it's steal. To my surprise, John didnot feel shame of it. He seems he is entitled to keep my deposit.



Maybe in American, people donot feel shamed to cheat others.
