Back in the 60s all you needed was a torch and a little bit of imagination and you could do it all. This was a good time for muffler shops. You made a few bucks for nitro at $3.00 per gallon, and if you didn't have a 5 gallon jug they would sell you one for a $1.50. You needed about 8 sticks of muffler pipe and a bunch of muffler hangers for brackets. Yikes! Then to the junk yard for parts like a 354 hemi. Now the expensive stuff, Clay Smith cam and lifters $35.00 Joe Hunt Mag $150.00 a used 671 blower with a chain drive $200.00 and a lot of help from friends. It's a hi-tech world out there now. Did you ever wonder where it all started from?
