GET A RECEIPT! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!
Check engine light came on, went to Auto Zone; 2 codes (gas pedal sensor or full body throttle) I went to City Auto Sales. The mechanic Rony said I needed a full body throttle. It would be $350. He told me he'd put a new full body throttle in my car & it'd be 1 hr. I asked the manager, Eddie, about the part that was being installed because it had been over an hour and Eddie told me that it was because he had to leave and personally go pick up the brand new part from the dealership himself. 3.5 hours later I'm told my vehicle is done. I was charged $350 and I signed a charge receipt. I was never given a receipt with details of the repairs or an itemized receipt, but I had been there for almost 4 hours with a baby and I was tired and ready to go. I would just come back the next day to get a receipt. So I left and everything was fine until that night. I exited the highway and boom, problem popped up again and so did the check engine light. Took it to Midas on W. Maple Rd in Troy the next morning. It came back with 1 service code. Full Body Throttle. My car was running fine for a little while because they had reset my sensor, BUT didn't fix the issue. 2 hours later my car was FIXED by Midas. I went to get my money back. Eddie argued with me about it & REFUSED to give me a receipt or show me proof that a new part was purchased from the dealership. Rony said HE went & bought the part & didn't have a receipt for it. Before, Eddie told me HE was the one that went & bought the part. After 45 minutes he finally gave in & gave me the receipt. It was for a $60 gas pedal. I was charged $350 for a full body throttle. I asked why he said I got a Full Body Throttle when I never did. He tried to tell me the other $290 was for labor. Got a refund after revealing I'd recorded everything & would sue if I had to. The gas pedal was removed, my old gas pedal was put back, took it back to Midas to have the vehicle checked and the pedal was fine.
