I had my haircut yesterday and it was my first time to Jackie.
I was satisfied with my new hair style and I was even happier that she helped me to trim my eyebrow too!

used to think that she gave a great haircut too! The first time I went to her, the experience was pretty good considering that she taught me a lot of hair tips (basically what she tells everyone).

I gave her 4 stars before because she was really nice even though she did make me wait 1 hour before getting my haircut. Just sitting there, STARVING. She didn't tell me to come back later or anything.

This review is for the second time I went in, which was yesterday.

This time she was on time, with no customers in front of her...waiting for me.

I went in, she was nice enough to put some treatment in my hair since it was so dry. She went to work saying how blow drying and straightening is so bad for your hair, that I should just air dry and use a heat protectant.

FYI, I never blow dry my hair and rarely use a straightening iron.

She later on, uses the blow dryer on my hair till my scalp is burning, and uses the flattening iron longer than any stylist I have ever met. My hair is already straight, why do I need to straighten it?



While I was getting my haircut, I asked how much dying my hair would cost, she told me $140 because she uses Goldwell. I used to work in a beauty supply store, and I know Goldwell is the cheap crappy "Suave" brand of the beauty world. I just didn't say anything. I later on called Michiko from D2 Hair Design, she said $85 and I know they use something way better than Goldwell. Good try Jackie, for ripping me off! Aren't you lucky that I used to work in a beauty supply store.



Long story short, she cut my hair uneven, it's so choppy like bamboo shoots. I will go ask her for refund today. There is no way I want her to help me fix my hair. She cannot even do a trim properly. I will never be going back to Jackie again.



BTW...she harasses you with text messages to give her a good review on yelp & yellowpages. She will text you constantly until you give her a review. She texted me every week for 2 months straight.

This lady is psycho and cheap, and even worse, a really bad hair stylist!

Hi, I just wanted to thank Jackie for the great job she did on my hair cut. I have curly/frizzy hair and she knew just how to cut it and also gave me an alternative style once it was dried. Will be going back again :)

Went to Jackie after my friend's very satisfied experience with her and I have to say I'm not disappointed at all! She not only did a great job trimming and layering my hair but also gave me some very useful hair care advice. I love how smooth my hair feels now, esp after she miraculously got rid of all my dried brittle ends without chopping too much of my hair off. The price ($30) was very reasonable too. Rest assured I'll be back here the next time I need anything done for my hair. She also does scalp massage, makeup, eye lash curling and extensions, etc. Call for an appointment (sometimes she is in LA) and her day off is Sunday.

Alas, after years of avoiding hair coloring, I decided to go on Yelp in search of a reasonally priced but also high rated stylist near my area. After having my daughter, the grays just kept creeping up and so I figured to get some advice before jumping into some extreme makeover. I stumbled across "Hair & Makeup by Jackie" and wondered what all the fuss was about. I made an appointment for the following morning and was seen immediately. Jackie was very professional, attentive and gave great advice during shampooing, coloring, cutting and styling. What I got was a "hair manicure" (washes out in 4-6 weeks) and hot oil treatment which costs $100; not too bad. I stuck with something close to my original color but slightly darker. Jackie added some bangs, layers and flat-ironed my locks, spritzing them with multiple solutions to make them shine like a million bucks eventhough the cut was only $30! Total time spent doing everything: 3 hours!!

I originally found Jackie on Yelp when searching through the highest rated establishments in my local area. Due to all the great reviews I decided to give her a try and she did not disappoint. She is super sweet lady that is easy to talk to (she's fluent in English so no awkward silence/language barriers if you can't speak Korean).



I wanted a bob and because I have semi-wavy hair I knew I needed to get my hair straightened or else I'd have that mushroom head poof. She was totally accommodating with her schedule with the straightening (I originally said I just wanted a cut.)



Jackie is a total pro and knows her stuff. She is a perfectionist. Just when I thought she was done (hey it looked good enough to me) she said almost done and continued to work at it. I liked that she did not use a razor on my hair. My cut and straightening took a total of 4 hours where she painstakingly went through each strand to ensure it was up to her standards. Not sure what the breakdown was for cut vs. straightening but total cost $150 (tip separate). Happiness with the results = priceless. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

My hair used to be kinky hairand did not like it at all I tried several hair salons but still not satisfied with the resultbut through yp.com i found jackieso i visited her to get my hair done i got my magic straight perm and it came out more than i expected now my hair is very silky thanks to Jackie

I really recommend you guys visit Jackie to get your hair done also if you guys are concerning about the products that she uses it is Japanese solution and it is very effective and does not harm your hair

Jackie is a good stylist. She's been cutting hair for over 10 years so she knows what she's doing. Her cuts are very confident and she is very knowledgeable about different hair styles. She is also very sociable and nice to talk to. The price was very reasonable, only $20. Would definitely recommend her to a friend.

On Friday last week I made appointment for Saturday hair cut. First time she said she couldn't make it on Saturday, but she's been so nice she was trying squish my husband and me in her schedule. That was first good impression.

On Saturday, my husband and I went to her place and were waiting no time, she took care us very carefully and she knew what she need to do, she event taught us how to take care our hair . The result ..... We are very happy with our new style :) Thanks Jackie...........!!!!

I was surfing the internet to look for a new hairstylist. I've grown tired of my usual hairstylist due to the fact that she usually just end up damaging my hair. Somehow, I stumble on google search under Gina's Salon, Jackie's name. I read few of the reviews and all of it sounds like they really enjoyed their visits. So I jot down her info and called her to make an appointment. She's really nice and she was able to accomodate my busy schedule. I've had a long, frizzy, unmanageable hair. But with just few extra snip and cut, she was able to make it look healthy and she made me look my age. I would definitely recommend her to all my friends.

Im very picky when it comes to my haircut , that's why when my friend reccomended jackie Im having 2nd thought , finally I tried , I like what she did to my hair short & easy to manage, thanks to you jackie I will be your regular customer from now on...

Having been Jackie's client for around two years, EVERY time I feel awesome after having my hair cut by her. She does it professional and efficient. And, the price is really reasonable. I highly recommend her.

I just visited Jackie this afternoon and I have to say I am more satisfied than everrrrr. I came to her for my first hair-perm and I love it! She is different than other hair stylist I had before, she helped me to choose the style which fitted me best, gave some great advices how to take care of my dry hair, and even offered me some hot tea. I will definitely come back here again. She is very good and sweet. <3

Jackie is such a great hairstylist. She pays attention to what kind of hairstyle you want and also gives you great advice on how to style it afterwards. She is not like other hairstylist who talks alot and don't pay attention to the hair while cutting. Once she start she becomes very focused on cutting your hair and she is very detailed. I'm so glad I found a great hairstylist in my neighborhood. She is amazing and the price is very reasonable too. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone.

I took my wife and mom last week to see Jackie. I first read up on reviews made by her clients online. In the past, we experienced high end salons such as Carlton and Creme Lounge. But I was very happy with the results of Jackie's efforts. I don't want to sound redundant but all the reviews written about her is TRUE! She takes pride in her work and is passionate about hair. That's what counts! Her price is reasonable, especially in a competitive market. However, her skill is treasure. My wife's hair was long and I wanted it cut short but with multiple layers. Jackie understood me more than my request and exceeded my expectations. I told her that when I finally grow out my hair, she'll cut my hair and style it. I've already recommended her to my sister who's getting married. I definitely recommend Jackie to anyone looking for quality exceptional haircut or style. Thanks Jackie!!
