It may seem strange that I'm offering five stars for this type of restaurant, but in fact I think it fits in the grand scheme of things. McAlister's Deli in Rowlett, TX, is one of our family's favorite places to visit. The food quality is consistent, and there is a variety of options for those looking for standard soup-sandwich-salad American fare. The staff is always friendly and attentive and makes us feel at home. While it certainly is a "grown up" restaurant, in so far as adults should find plenty to enjoy, it is most definitely a family-friendly place, which is important to us since we have a 10-month-old and a 6-year-old. Is it high cuisine? Of course not, but McAlister's offers tasty food, generous portions, great tea, and a pleasant dining experience all around. I highly recommend them!
