I have been to this co-op many times over the years, but will not likely go again after a disturbing incident this afternoon. I arrived at 3:30, knowing that they close at 4pm. The owner informed me as I entered that he was closing in 15 minutes. I expressed my surprise, and he repeated, rather rudely I thought, that he was closing in 15 minutes. I rushed thru, not really enjoying my browsing as I was brooding over whether I shoild say something to him. I came to the counter at 10 minutes to 4 with one small item, told him I didn't have cash and assumed he wouldn't want me to charge the small amount., and could he hold it for me for a couple of days. He hung it up behind him, saying " I don't hold things." In my naiviete, I thought he was teasing me. He wasn't. I was able to count out the couple of dollars in change, told him I didn't need a bag, and gave him a little lecture about how his manner wasn't conducive to good customer relations, etc., . He grabbed the item, which I was holding, tried to wrestle it out of my hand, and threatened to call the police. I said that I had paid him, the item was mine. and that I would most likely not patronize his business again. As I walked out, he shouted, don't come back.



This was the owner I( had asked) and I think it is important the the various vendors know what happened, as his attitude has alienated at least this one customer, and I don't think he was just having a bad day.
