Provided by YP.comAudio Dimensions carries some of the highest end audio equipment available on the market. However, the owner, Harry Francis, is the most pretentious and condescending business person I have ever interacted with. I have never left a bad review of a business in my life, regardless of my opinion. I have always given them the benefit of the doubt that it was a bad day, or something of that nature. However, Mr. Francis talked down to me throughout the entire time that I was there. I asked him specific questions about the equipment that his colleague had showed me the previous weekend. In response, he told me that "people like you" always come in here thinking that they know everything about this stuff just from reading a spec sheet, "people like you" this, "people like you" that. He at times feigned politeness, saying, "not that you're this way," but throughout the conversation is became abundantly clear that he couldn't stand me as a person and didn't want to sell to me.
Furthermore, I was initially excited to give Mr. Francis my business. I was in the market for a pair of bookshelf speakers. My budget wasn't huge, but to the average person $200-600 for a pair of speakers is outrageous. To Mr. Francis this is peanuts, as he sells speakers that are in excess of $3500 per speaker. He told me that he only keeps "cheap" speakers like that around because he doesn't want people to think he's pretentious. Just saying that illustrates that he IS pretentious. And besides that, the pair of speakers is made by a British company that almost nobody in the US has even heard of (Mordaunt-Short).
I told him that the pair was available online for $300 (his asking price was $500). I understand that the small audio/video stores are almost all but out of business, and since I wouldn't have been able to hear these speakers if it weren't for his store, I was interested in negotiating with him. I was willing to pay $400 for the pair if he'd throw in some speaker cable, but he wasn't even willing to take that. He offered to call the company and see if they were having any specials, and then call me back with more information. I said OK, but when he asked for my name, this is what he said:
"So what is it, Bob, Jim, Bill, James, Mike, John, Mark?"
While the equipment that is sold at Audio Dimensions is probably better than anything you will find elsewhere, and the know-how of the owner is broad, I would recommend letting this one go under.

Provided by YP.comAudio Dimensions is now permanently closed. Thank you for visiting us during our liquidation sale. We hope you enjoy both the gear and the music for many years to come.
In the future, consider visiting our friends at Almas HiFi just north of us on Woodward. They're very knowledgably and can help with any of your future audio needs.
Thank you everyone, it's been fun!
Best regards,
Jay

Provided by YP.comI found Audio Dimensions via the Web. I needed an amplifier, probably a pre-amp, a CD player, record deck, speakers and headphones. Compared with many audiophiles, my budget was modest at around $3000. I know what I like in terms of listening but have limited knowledge of the equipment available. Armed only with a short list of equipment culled from various HiFi magazines, I visited the store.
Harry could not have been more helpful. I spent over two hours at Audio Dimensions with Harry being with me for much of the time. Options were discussed and different set-ups tried using my own vinyl and CD sources. Having agreed the equipment, I left. Later, Harry made up the cable interconnections and I returned to take it all home. I stayed within budget (well, almost) and at no time, did Harry pressure me to buy more expensive stuff.
With the equipment now installed at home, I can say that I am truly delighted.

Provided by SuperpagesTop shelf audiophile gear! By far, the best in the area. Best to call and make an appointment to listen at length. My favorite place on Woodward for audio video gear.

Provided by SuperpagesHighly recommended. This store is head and shoulders above all others in the area. They do a lot of word of mouth referrals, and have been fairly low profile. If you're interested in truly phenomenal sound systems (either budget or top-shelf), this is your place...bar none.

Provided by YP.comOwner Harry Francis is a high end guru. Great advise as well as the best gear in the business...bar none.
He always friendly and eager to show and demonstrate his gear. Bring your own music? No problem for Harry. Just stop by and say hi. Dont forget to say hi to his trusty assistant, Jay. He is a good guy too!
