Holiday Market began in 1954, founded by Tom and Janet Violante as a small neighborhood butcher shop and specialty grocery store with a focus on high quality, excellent products and friendly neighborhood service. Over the last half century the store has grown from a modest 2, 500 square feet to 60, 000 square feet, always preserving an emphasis on quality and service. Expanding to a larger space has allowed the Violante family to offer an ever increasing selection of premium foods from around the world. The Violante's children, Tom Jr. and Gina Mangold, along with Gina's husband, Craig, have overseen the growth that has led Holiday Market to be the Detroit Metro's leading choice for customers looking for the best in everything from fine imported wines to freshly baked bread just out of the oven. The family appreciation for fantastic cheeses, meats and seafood shows in the abundant selection of artisanal cheese, high quality meat and fresh seafood. Please stop in for a visit and explore all that Holiday Market has to offer, from on staff wine experts to recommend the perfect bottle for your dinner to seafood that has been flown in that day. We welcome you to join the Holiday Market family and see why we have been named the Best Grocery Store in Metro Detroit.

great meat department, but a little pricey, decent and unique selections throughout store, staff seems to not be particularly interested in providing high end service!!

Off the beaten track grocery store

I'm waffling between 3 and 4 stars with Holiday Market. Its a Spartan Food store, but the rest of the stock is quite different than any other. This is good, for those who can afford the more unusual items available. This store appeals to the upper-middle class families/individuals in the area. Their produce department carries fruits and veggies you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Their wine, meat and cheeses are particularly diverse. But you pay for the selection. The staff are a bit full of themselves, but its what you might expect for a store of this type. Lets just say that speed and customer service are not exactly virtues at this store.
