Provided by YP.comI have a 1999 Land Rover Discovery that I have had serviced by Mountain Tech owner Kyle for the last ten years. Recently I had to replace the water pump and fan as the fan was damaged from the failure of the water pump. The parts were ordered from the Land Rover Dealer in Albuquerque and replaced in two days.
Mountain Tech did a professional job as always and Kyle was his his usual friendly and helpful person. I would recommend Mtn Tech for any service needed when in Ruidoso.

Provided by YPmobileHorrible experience!!! I have had my vehicle for 8 years have gotten an oil change every 6 months for the entire time and it has always cost the same give or take 5$. I have just moved to ruidoso and needed an oil change. I stopped here and got charged $60 more than normal for a simple oil change! Then not to miss the owners arrogant attitude. He tried talking me into something I didn't need for the vehicle and started laughing at me like I was stupid when I told him I get what he said I needed online and for less than half his price. Point of the story is I wish I had read the reviews first. I NEVER will go back

Provided by YP.comWow, My wife and I have been using Mountain Tech Automotive for several years and have been extremely satisfied. People that I have recommended to go there have also been very satisfied. Kyle has always taken care of the problems on our vehicles and has never sold me something that I did not need. He has always discussed what I needed before hand and if I thought it made sense, I agreed to have it taken care of. I have never thought that Kyle did not have my best interest at heart. Happy with Mountain Tech Automotive and have nothing personally to gain by giving them a good review. Gary L.

Provided by YP.comI used these guys a while ago, and being new to this site, still wanted to share just how bad they are. They CAUSED damage to my car, and had the nerve to charge me for the small item that they fixed. The owner (who is nothing but an obnoxious little troll) is not ethical, and charges an awful lot for inferior service. BEWARE, this business is out to rip you off!!!!

Provided by YP.comThe bottom line is ...DO NOT GO HERE...while visiting Ruidoso at Christmas time, and driving a rental car, we discovered we needed tire chains to be able to get up to Ski Apache. We purchased and paid for installation of those chains at MTA.( at an exhorbitant charge of $180)..when I questionsed the installation process, I was told by the owner, Kyle, that they only did professional installation work, and tied off excess chain links with ZIP TIES...after we left with chains installed, and drove only about 2 miles, one of the zip ties holding excess chain links had come undone. I was able to reattach with little effort, as THIS ONE was on the outside of the tire...while coming down the mountain, an inside tie came loose which allowed excess chain link now to HIT ON BRAKE LINE with every rotation. The only remedy was to remove the chains at this point...By the time I was able to get them off (after coming down the mountain), the chain had NEARLY severed the brake line. THIS "PROFESSIONAL" INSTALLATION NEARLY CAUSED US TO BE WITHOUT BRAKES ON VERY STEEP MOUNTAIN ROADS. Also, as if this isn't enough, when we got back home to Texas, I called MTA (by the way, we had to look up the number on computer because the PHONE NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECEIPT), getting Kyle, who first was reluctant to give me his name, then hung up on me before I was able to even discuss with him my concerns...RIP OFF PLACE...

Provided by YP.comTook in a Toyota pickup for a problem with the dome light not turning off. Kyle, the owner, looked at the vehicle and said it needed a new door switch to repair it. Brought it back once the switch was ordered and he charged $100 to install the switch and said it was still not working properly because of door damage. He said he thought he could fix it for another $80 but would have to charge more if necessary. I pointed out that he evaluted the repair to begin with and the estimate was $100. At no point did he tell me that it would cost more during the repair until he handed me the keys and said it still did not work properly. Stay Away from this business!!! Expensive and apprently unethical as well.
