Founded by the Rotary cLubs of Monroe County in 1956, Camp Haccamo provides overnight camping experience for people with developmental and physical disabilities in the Greater Rochester area in New York. The camp has a staff of more than 30 people and over 100 volunteers. It is spread over an area of nearly nine acres and features a lodge and dining area. The camp conducts several one-week sessions for children between the ages of 7 and 17. Camp Haccamo serves over 480 campers each summer. It organizes a variety of leisure activities that includes boating, fishing, swimming and softball, as well as field trips, Halloween parties and senior prom nights. The camp is sponsored by the United Way and the Camp Haccamo Foundation.
