Took my car to Sunpoint. Actually had it towed there since they are the AAA's towing contractor. They told me they would fix the problem and it would cost $446.00. They did not fix the problem. The car went a whopping 65 miles before it stopped working and had to be towed again. They told me that the diagnosis was what the computer said was wrong, however, they did not and would not give me an engine code to verify this.

They refused to refund my money. However, I did put it on a credit card and have disputed the amount with my cc company.

I will also report them to Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services since this is a Florida regulatory agency for mechanics. I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce as well as a complaint to the Automobile Club.

FYI: I have used Sunpoint in Ruskin for YEARS, they were always very accommodating and had very reasonable prices, that was until now. I hadn't been back there since the owner passed away, but I had to this week...and their prices have doubled, a 5 hr wait for a tow...I will never go back, and neither will any of my family.

Yesterday my husband, Cal and I were driving from western New York to our winter home in Lehigh Acres when our Explorer quit on I-75. We got off I-75 and called AAA not knowing who would rescue us. Within 20 minutes Robert arrived and was most courteous and accommodating. We were on the road for 3 days and only 116 miles from our destination when we lost the electrical system on our Explorer. Robert did everything he could to make our situation better. This man is truly dedicated to his job and we can't thank him enough. Beware! I was told that I needed to replace the engine in my car for the tune of $3,165 by these guys, they charged me $333 to tow my car after I told them I couldn't afford it. The real repair cost me less than $800.

Being new to the area I had no "shop" for my two vehicles. I came upon Sunpoint only because my vechicle had broken down and needed to be towed, the driver was so friendly and really made a bad situtaion much better. They repaired my car the next day and I was on my way, I have since used them as needed and they have always been professional and curteous.

I highly recommend the Sun City Towing Team. They are kind courteous and perform as true professionals. Their equipment is state of the art. I use them exclusively for our towing needs at the Apollo Beach Condominiums.Dave
