Rutland Community Cupboard moved to 65 River St. Rutland, VT 05701

Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. They have a wonderful variety of foods to choose from - including meats commodities and when available fresh vegetables. However, recently my friends and I have received food with live grain weevils that we have been unable to get rid of; even with multiple visits from the exterminator.
We recommend zip-locking any food with flour, boxed or bagged food (including crackers and popcorn believe it or not) immediately upon bringing into your home to prevent bug spread and contamination of all of your food. Also recommend refrigerating any bread products until use as well as checking any cream cheese or brick cheese and bread for mold often.

All that said, the Community Cupboard is a great boost to Rutland and provide an invaluable service to those less fortunate or on a fixed budget.

Anyone can go up to 6 times a year making it helpful year round.

Much love to the volunteers for all their efforts and all those who donate. Saved my skin many times.

But remember to bring your own bags to carry home and if you have extra bags at home please feel free to bring them in to donate to those without.
