Provided by YPmobileTheir teriyaki is pretty good, kind of the only place in this area that's decent. The family that runs it is super nice

Provided by YP.comBento Box Teriyaki Chicken is AWESOME! For years and years I’ve ordered teriyaki chicken in Sacramento restaurants, only to be served a dry overcooked piece of chicken with bottled teriyaki sauce across the top (not teriyaki chicken at all). Bento Box marinated their chicken and served it with cooked on teriyaki glaze. It was wonderful. Finally authentic teriyaki chicken in Sacramento! Thank you!
To anyone who ordered sashimi, and sushi: Come on, think about it, that’s like ordering prime rib at MickeyD’s. A bento box by definition is a boxed take-out complete meal. Bento Box restaurant served a great bento box meal. Thank goodness it’s not another sushi bar that sells fried crap in a rice roll.

Provided by YP.comThe restaurant was dirty and there was a puddle of water on the floor that emp walked over several time and did not clean. The service lacked enthusiasm and courtesy. Food was okay, not great.

Provided by YP.comNothing special. I would never crave for sushi and say, "Hey, we should definitely go to Bento Box!" Bad for parties that consist of more than 4 people. Mediocre service and mediocre food.

Provided by YP.comFood was decent. Great variety, however, not too cheap. They market to individuals with a little deeper pockets than the average middle class. Service system should have been better. Needs bigger exit or 1 more exit and major management reform. I would not recommend the sushi... you will have better luck at Taros which is really close by if you crave sushi.
Now, would I come back to this establishment?... Probably not. I'm going to stick with my fav... Taro's.

Provided by YP.comUpon entering this restaurant/takeout establishment you feel cramped. Customer service line aisle is narrow and is also the exit for finished customers (Fire Hazard - Blockage of exit?). Waiters were polite and very helpful. Food was mediocre and could have been better. Soups were salty. They offered kimchee that did not taste like kimchee at all. I would say it was quite interesting with a sweet flavor mixed with red pepper powder. And why kimchee in a Japanese restaurant? Fusion?!? Who knows? Furthermore, the sushi is overpriced.
All in all I would not recommend this restaurant for people who have large groups or people in a hurry for lunch. My order took well over 20 mins for a group of 2 people. We had to stuff our faces just to get back to work on time. Go to Taro's or Mikuni where they offer fresh fish with no substitution fish at a decent price for great quality!

Provided by YP.comI just tried this place and dont agree with the other reviewers. Maybe I went at a better time, but it was great. I loved the meat and rice much better to than what some of the others are comparing them too. The choices are varied, and there seems to be something for everyone. Give it a try....

Provided by YP.comI made this same comment on Yelp.com. This location just opened so I decided to try it out. One would think they would try to make a good first impression. Everything went wrong. I would not recommend this place unless management is changed and employees are further trained.

Provided by YP.comNarrow entryway and exit. Long wait in line and for food. Management has several issues that need to be fixed in order for this restaurant to survive. Customer service was in utter chaos. Credit card transactions are slow so I recommend paying cash if you're going to try this place. Food was okay but I've tasted better and have had better service. One confusing part was there was a gratuity line on the reciept in a place where you pay first to eat it was very odd. If you're looking for quick teriyaki go to i love teriyaki or taros which is nearby and decently priced. I don't think I'll be making a return visit to this place anytime soon.

Provided by YP.comYou get a polite greeting when you walk in. And the food smelled great. However I was greatly disappointed. The restaurant was overcrowded. Customer service was confused and not organized and credit card charges took too much time. I was also somewhat confused about the tip line on the credit card slip because payment is due after ordering from the cashier. So pay now and tip now? I found that very odd due to the fact that I was not even served yet! The sushi was overpriced. I would much rather drive to a Mikuni's and receive a larger portion for a fraction of the price. Because I work in the office buildings nearby I was hoping that this would be a quick lunch. However, I ended up waiting 23 mins for nothing to come out. The management told me that my order was misplaced!!! I just asked for a refund and left the restaurant. Horrible management. I would not recommend this restaurant for people on the go for lunch. Provided by YP.comI have been to Bento Box three times since its opening. Customer service excellent. Prices are low compared to other similar establishments. Their kim chee is excitingly different... uses ko chi chung instead of lots of vinegar and red pepper. I had it as a salad with rice.
So far, we've tried Korean short ribs, teriyaki tofu, sesame chicken, Thai chicken, kim chee, sushi (yellow fin, cucumber and futo maki). No complaints at all. Good portions, however son wanted a bit more rice with his Thai chicken. Nice variety of food, including bento boxes with salad and vegetables, sushi of all types, noodle bowls, and appetizers such as gyoza.
I'll go back. No question about it. I wish them success!

Provided by YP.comI hardly ever submit a review because personal taste and subjective opinion can vary, however, my daughter and I recently had lunch at the Bento Box on Fair Oaks Blvd. The food is terrible and unidentifiable. I realize that this location just opened but one would think they would try to make a good first impression, and taste their own food. The two chicken dishes Teriaki and Spicy were dry and tastless. The service was confusion. We will not be returning.
