Bud's never disappoints! While it's not a buffet, the portions are huge and you won't leave hungry. I order the same thing every time and never tire of it: a French dip ($8.99) with dipping sauce and a side of fries ($2.49) with seasoning salt. Their meats are all hand-carved to order and hot. A good choice if in the mood for comfort-food. The place isn't fancy by any means -- cafeteria-style with trays to pick up your items.

This is a great place to eat. Be sure to get there before 11 a.m. This is when they open. They sell only hot sandwiches and blue plate specials, but the quality is unbeliveably great. I no longer live in Sacramento and I miss this place every day. Another kudo is that they are not pricey. Days/hours are Monday thru Friday only and the hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. only. They do deliver but only in downtown and for quite a few people. Again, do your mouth and stomach a favor and eat there as often as you can (I ate there every day and never got sick of the same thing).

Friendly, fast service with very generous portions. Not fancy at all but the food is excellent!
