Provided by YPmobileThey gave me an estimate on my car because it didn't pass smog. I can say that it was way pricier than I expected. When I asked if I had to fix all of the things they recommended, the old guy in the front smirked at me and said that it wouldn't pass smog without all of there recommendations. I'm glad that I got a second opinion bc it saved me half of what CCC estimated and I didn't have to fix nearly as many things that CCC recommended me to fix, and I pass smog!
I understand your concern over the price of an estimate. We do try to cover any of the likely scenarios you might face, based on over 42 years experience. What Bill did say was that it might need each item estimated but we couldn't know for sure until the system itself was diagnosed, and then you would only be charged for what we actually needed to repair. I think he tried to prepare you for the worst, and it sent you into shock. Happy to hear the actual repairs turned out to be less than the estimate. In our attempt to be totally upfront and disclosing to customers, we later find ourselves giving them a happy surprise when it turns out to be less than we thought. That's why it's called an estimate. Never more, but often less.
