I'm a professional music instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience. I offer lessons for guitar, bass, piano and voice. I've had students as old as 70 and as young as 5 with a variety of different learning styles. While lessons are designed to be fun and accessible for players of all ages and skill levels, they're also tailored to assist each student in achieving their goals. My pedagogical philosophy is that music is a language. Thus, a lesson with me would touch on all the topics that might be covered in a language class (AND MORE):
- theory = grammar
- ear training = vocabulary
- sight reading = literacy skills
- composition = speech writing
- repertoire = speech memorization
- technique/articulations = enunciation
- improvisation & collaborative skills = basic conversation skills
- musicianship skills = musical multitasking (singing and playing at the same time, etc.)
- recording experience, etc
I can help you bridge gaps in your knowledge, isolate hang-ups in your technique, learn to read music, right your own songs, collaborate with other players, recognize chords & scales by ear, communicate with other players about music on a technical level, explore new styles of playing, take your playing to the next level, and unlock your musical identity. Whatever your goals may be, I can help.
I like to use the game Rocksmith to teach repertoire for guitar & bass students.

Provided by YP.comChris Lee has been teaching my 11 year old son since May 2011. He’s been instructing my son in the following areas:
• Electric guitar,
• Bass guitar,
• Harmonica, and
• Reading/writing music.
Chris is very patient and keeps my son motivated. The lessons are exciting which keeps my son interested and yearning to learn more. This helps in my son practicing without it being a chore.
Chris encourages his students to write their own music using the computer and lined note sheets. He also gives my son confidence in his musical aspirations.
I feel that Chris’ methods of instruction have helped my son excel in the musical area.
My son is ready to begin taking a Jr. College level Music Theory class because of Chris’ instruction.

Provided by YP.comIt's rare to find a talented teacher, and even rarer to find one that is really passionate about what they do. Chris is both, and he went above and beyond what could reasonably be expected to help my son make the best progress possible in learning to play the guitar, as well as theory. He's a really nice guy, and a really great teacher.

Provided by YP.comI wanted to make a wedding present for my fiancé and was looking for a musician to write music to a poem that he liked to make it a song. I came across Chris’ profile online and decided to try him because his musical tastes seemed very similar to the ones of my fiance’s. Chris responded quickly to my initial inquiry and we set up an appointment a few days later. He was very attentive and thorough gathering information about my fiancé’s music tastes and was able to come up with a rough guitar draft on our first meeting. He picked up intuitively what I had in mind and gave very good suggestions about how to improve original ideas at the same incorporating my ideas as well. He also customized the tune of the song to my voice. The whole process took several weeks during which Chris updated me regularly about the progress and sent me drafts of the song to practice with. Besides composing, Chris did music arrangement, editing and recording. He did a great job adding different instruments to enhance the melody and the final draft of the song came out wonderful. It fitted the original poem in terms of rhythm, mood and meaning. Chris is professional, personable and pleasant to work with. He seems to possess great knowledge about music and composing and shares his talent with enthusiasm. His rates were very reasonable considering I had a custom- written song to boast of at the end. I am very satisfied with the process of working with Chris and with the final product and definitely recommend his services.

Provided by YP.comI really enjoyed having Chris as my guitar teacher and recommend him for any level of guitar player! He is very skilled and knowledgeable and tailors the lessons to meet individual goals. I graduated from college with a music education degree but was never too confident in playing guitar. After two months of lessons with Chris, my confidence is up and I have learned a bunch of new stuff. He creates a comfortable learning environment and uses the time in the lesson efficiently. If I weren’t moving I would, no doubt, continue lessons with Chris.

Provided by YP.comProfessional and extremely knowledgeable are the first things that come to mind when I think of Chris, this guy is definitely not some guitar dude burnout teaching people to jam out. Written and well thought out lesson plans, he was able to explain music theory that was a complete foreign language to me and make sense out of it. Great knowledge of scales and really catered the lessons to what I wanted to play, overall a great teacher I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a guitar teacher. By the way this guy plays the guitar like you would not believe as well!!!!!!

Provided by YP.comLet me start off by saying I am actually not a student of Chris', but am very familiar with the work that he does.
Chris is incredibly knowledgable about music and theory and does an excellent job as an instructor. I played an instrument growing up and took lessons for a few months. Looking back, I learned very little and did not have much fun with it.
Chris is focused on teaching his students in a way that helps them understand and grow as musicians. He even has a book written, which few musicians can claim!
This guy is honest, friendly and professional and I would recommend his expertise to anyone looking for some high quality music instruction!
